Procedures for International Faculty Who Apply from Outside of Turkey
- An informal agreement is reached between you and the department.
- The agreement is approved by the Dean and the Rectorate.
- The Personnel Office begins internal paperwork regarding your hire.
- The Personnel Office requests approval from YÖK, the High Council of Education
- YÖK grants its approval and sends the Personnel Office a letter detailing work and residence permit fees.
- You will receive a hard copy of the letter from YÖK regarding the fees.
- The letter must be taken to a Turkish Consulate in your country as part of your application for a work visa.
- Pay the fees at the Consulate.
- Send the receipt to the Boğaziçi University Personnel Office.
- The Personnel Office sends the receipt to YÖK.
- YÖK issues a card that functions as your work and residence permit, and mails it to the Personnel Office at Boğaziçi University.
- Enter Turkey on your work visa.
- Go to the Personnel Office, sign your contract, and pick up your work and residence card.
Procedures for International Faculty Who Apply from Inside Turkey
- An informal agreement is reached between you and the department.
- The agreement is approved by the Dean and the Rectorate
- The Personnel Office begins internal paperwork regarding your hire.
- The Personnel Office requests approval from YÖK, the High Council of Education.
- YÖK grants its approval and sends the Personnel Office a letter detailing work and residence permit fees.
- Personnel Office will inform you about the fees.
- Pay the fees at any Ziraat Bankası and bring the receipt to the Personnel Office
- The Personnel Office sends the receipt to YÖK.
- YÖK issues a card that functions as both your work and residence permit. When ready, this card is delivered to the Personnel Office at Boğaziçi University.
- The Personnel Office will contact you when it is time to go to their office to the Personnel Office, sign your contract, and pick up your work/residence permit card.
